Results for the Top Teams

Tournament day sunny skies, with temperatures in the low 70's, winds at 5 – 10mph with water temperature in the mid 50's. It was quite windy early Saturday morning and the fish quit biting early due to a cold front, but that didn't stop Trevor Nederhoff of Calera, Alabama and Josh Brown of Rainbow City, Alabama from taking first place of the event, weighing in at 148.3 pounds and earning $5,100.00, plus an additional $300 Driftmaster Bonus. The team fished across Lake Moultrie from Blacks Camp, targeting fish in 35 – 40 feet of water around deep points on the main lake and flats. Trevor and Josh anchored all day using Demon Dragons with cut blue black herring as bait to land 12 fish for the day. They also won the Driftmaster Bonus for having all Driftmaster on the boat.

Taking second place were Richard Chaplin of Summerville, South Carolina and James Girdler of Covington, Georgia with a total weight of 144.10 pounds and earned $2,650.00. The team fished the Rocks Pond area, drifting in 10 feet of water using gizzard shad and river herring for bait, catching their 5 fish early in the morning.

Carl Morris, Jr of Johnstown, Ohio and Rob Parsons of Mt. Vernon, Ohio took third place weighing in at 138.28 pounds and earned $2,000.00. The team fished Lake Moultrie, targeting fish on rock piles, drifting in 35 feet of water using river herring and perch for bait to land 20 fish for the event. Carl stated that the harder the wind blew, the better the fish were biting.

The team fished Lake Moultrie, finding their fish in shallow water in the morning and moving out to 20 feet of water by the end of the day. They fished close to structure using gizzard shad and river herring to catch 7 fish, as well as landing a nice flathead.
