Why the catfish market?

Catfish anglers are identified by the latest National Survey of Fishing by the Federal Fish and Wildlife agency as numbering 7.51 million. Representing 15% of the total freshwater market, these anglers spend an average of 10 days annually in pursuit of their favorite specie. Prior to King Kat Trail, this market did not have any national promotional efforts to drive sales of its products and services.

King Kat Trail Accomplishments:

  • In only two years we have become the largest catfish tournament organization in the nation.
  • Established catfish club affiliations boasting over 40 such clubs in 24 months.
  • Established the King Kat Kid’s Fishing Rodeos – Free for youngsters 12 and under, conducted at every tournament site.
    Prizes to each youngster attending and lessons in the “how to’s of fishing at all youth events. We believe the future of
    fishing lies in the hands of our youth and we are proud to promote youth events in every way.
  • We work with several TV and film outlets each season to enhance media exposure.
  • We encourage catch and release and all tournament fish are released at weigh in.
  • Tournaments and promotions cover a minimum of ten distinct marketing areas annually
